OpenOcean welcomes three new team members: Joanna Graiver, Katariina Marttinen and Cyrus Hessabi
We're excited to announce that the OpenOcean team is expanding with three exceptional new additions. Joanna and Cyrus have joined the London team as Investment Associates, while Katariina is has joined the Helsinki team as Operations Manager.

Joanna Graiver brings extensive experience in venture capital to OpenOcean. She joined the OpenOcean team in early October as an Investment Associate, based in the London office.

Prior to OpenOcean, Joanna worked at Fuel Ventures, an early-stage VC fund in London. She built a remarkable track record leading investments across fintech, developer tools and deep tech, while also serving on the boards of 20 portfolio companies. Additionally, Joanna founded a digital health startup through Entrepreneur First. During her time at the fintech startup Crowdcube, she helped over a dozen UK and EU startups raise nearly €6 million in funding.

With a strong foundation in corporate law and management consulting from her time at Boston Consulting Group and White & Case, Katariina coordinates value-creation activities and ensures smooth operations at OpenOcean. Cyrus Hessabi, who is passionate about transformative technologies, joined the OpenOcean London office in early September as an Investment Associate.

With a background at Salesforce and DN Capital, he’s supported enterprise software founders across Europe and the U.S. As an aerospace engineer by training, Cyrus draws a comparison between building a transformational company and building an aircraft: it takes thousands of moving parts assembled correctly to take off. Cyrus also holds an MBA with Distinction from Harvard Business School and he’s supported early-stage founders at Harvard, Stanford and Wharton with first-check investments at the MBA Fund
