Duleepa “Dups” Wijayawardhana

Duleepa Wijayawardhana, better known as Dups, is a Venture Partner at OpenOcean. He focuses especially on strengthening deal flow, sourcing new investment opportunities and giving hands-on support to portfolio companies. Alongside this, Dups is Chief Information Officer at Supermetrics, where he has been instrumental in scaling the company from its early days into a global SaaS leader serving thousands of customers. He was named Finland’s CTO of the Year in 2021 for his work at Supermetrics. Earlier in his career, Dups was CEO and Co-founder of the venture-backed Empire Avenue, held senior roles at MySQL and later Sun Microsystems, and worked at BioWare before its acquisition by Electronic Arts. Beyond his operational and investment work, Dups actively supports the Finnish startup ecosystem. He serves on the board of The Shortcut, a hub that helps international talent launch their careers in Finland.
