Why we invested in Embeddable
OpenOcean is proud to have led Embeddable's oversubscribed €6 million seed round, alongside Four Rivers and TechStars. Together, we’re supporting Embeddable’s mission to transform embedded analytics for developers.

Embeddable is changing how development teams build customer-facing analytics, making the process faster, more flexible and developer-friendly. As embedded analytics tools become a must-have for software applications, Embeddable is tackling the frustrations that developers face with incumbent solutions.

Current tools often feel clunky. They’re slow, hard to customise and demand too much engineering time. Embeddable takes a different approach. With a headless architecture, their platform allows developers to build tailored, interactive dashboards that fit seamlessly into any application. It’s fast, scalable and designed with developers in mind. At the same time, Embeddable’s no-code features let non-technical users tweak and personalise analytics without constantly turning to engineering teams.

Even with a lean team of just 14, Embeddable has already achieved a lot. They’ve signed contracts with 36 companies, ranging from startups to billion-dollar businesses, and their beta programme has drawn more than 800 applicants. They’re also adding $100,000 in new monthly contracts and have partnered with big names like StarTree, amCharts and Cube. These numbers show just how much the market is crying out for a better way to deliver analytics.

Harry and Tom, Embeddable’s founders, have spent years working in business intelligence. Their experience and clear vision for the future of embedded analytics made it an easy decision for us to back them. They’ve rethought how analytics should work, prioritizing developers’ needs while giving non-technical users the tools to create data-driven experiences.

Embeddable aligns perfectly with our focus on data tools that empower developers and transform businesses. Their headless analytics platform solves a clear need for clients, making them a perfect fit for our investment in the future of software development. As developers deserve better tools, we’re proud to stand behind them as they move forward.

Quantum computing in Europe: lessons from IQM and OpenOcean

When we met Jan Goetz, Professor Mikko Möttönen and the rest of the IQM founding team in late 2018, we knew we were seeing something rare. The science was hard to grasp, even for my colleague Patrik Backman, who had studied physics and some quantum theory, but the ambition was unmistakable.

The state of agentic AI in 2025: what’s working, what isn’t, and what’s next

At the start of the year, “2025: The Year of Agents” sounded like headline bait. Eight months in, it feels like an understatement. Sam Altman said agents would “join the workforce” in 2025. Satya Nadella expects them to replace segments of knowledge work. Marc Benioff wants Salesforce to be the “#1 provider of digital labour.” That’s not future tense anymore - today, agents are moving tickets, shipping code, and digesting documents.

What we’ve learned from the front lines of AI-enabled services

Last November, we laid out a vision for AI-native services: businesses rebuilt from the ground up to combine the margins of software with the resilience and depth of services markets. Since then, we have taken dozens of first meetings, explored more than 15 verticals, backed our first deals, and sharpened our thesis along the way.
