Why we invested in Embeddable
OpenOcean is proud to have led Embeddable's oversubscribed €6 million seed round, alongside Four Rivers and TechStars. Together, we’re supporting Embeddable’s mission to transform embedded analytics for developers.

Embeddable is changing how development teams build customer-facing analytics, making the process faster, more flexible and developer-friendly. As embedded analytics tools become a must-have for software applications, Embeddable is tackling the frustrations that developers face with incumbent solutions.

Current tools often feel clunky. They’re slow, hard to customise and demand too much engineering time. Embeddable takes a different approach. With a headless architecture, their platform allows developers to build tailored, interactive dashboards that fit seamlessly into any application. It’s fast, scalable and designed with developers in mind. At the same time, Embeddable’s no-code features let non-technical users tweak and personalise analytics without constantly turning to engineering teams.

Even with a lean team of just 14, Embeddable has already achieved a lot. They’ve signed contracts with 36 companies, ranging from startups to billion-dollar businesses, and their beta programme has drawn more than 800 applicants. They’re also adding $100,000 in new monthly contracts and have partnered with big names like StarTree, amCharts and Cube. These numbers show just how much the market is crying out for a better way to deliver analytics.

Harry and Tom, Embeddable’s founders, have spent years working in business intelligence. Their experience and clear vision for the future of embedded analytics made it an easy decision for us to back them. They’ve rethought how analytics should work, prioritizing developers’ needs while giving non-technical users the tools to create data-driven experiences.

Embeddable aligns perfectly with our focus on data tools that empower developers and transform businesses. Their headless analytics platform solves a clear need for clients, making them a perfect fit for our investment in the future of software development. As developers deserve better tools, we’re proud to stand behind them as they move forward.

Why are we still building development teams like it’s 2020?

Twenty-five years ago, I could have written that same sentence and replaced “AI” with “the Web,” and forty years ago, “the personal computer.” This is not an article about needing to use Claude or other agentic AI tools; that is something you should be doing already. In this case, I’m talking about a fundamental restructuring of how software gets built and deployed.

What founders get wrong about speed and scale

Every founder faces the same question: how fast should you go? In conversation with our Venture Partner, Duleepa “Dups” Wijayawardhana, we explored why so many startups struggle to balance speed, quality and scale, and how to get it right (at least most of the time). As Dups puts it, for every rule there is an exception, and for every exception there is something to learn.
